About

Join the Plymouth Symphony Orchestra in June 2025, with soloist Charlotte Spruit for a performance of the popular and virtuosic Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. Born in the Netherlands in 2000, Charlotte Spruit was a winner at the 2023 Young Classical Artists Trust international auditions. She is a keen chamber musician, has played at prominent locations such as the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam and Wigmore Hall, London and with many leading orchestras. She was also selected as one of Classic FM’s ‘Rising Stars’ of 2024.

The opening work is Brahms’ spirited Academic Festival Overture and the programme also includes Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Gershwin’s An American in Paris and Strike Up the Band.

The orchestra members are looking forward to returning to the newly renovated Theatre at Sterts, where the local birds often join in with our concerts! Join us and support your local symphony orchestra and live classical music! plymouthsymphony.co.uk
